Liquid detergents are made up largely of water. At Nellie’s, we don’t think selling and moving water around the planet is a very good idea. The fact is, more cleaning power can be packed into a smaller space using powder.

Our story:

Nellie’s was inspired by you guessed it, Nellie! She was a big believer of green cleaning and valued using simple, honest, and effective products. Therefore, her son, James, created an entire line of cleaning products free of toxins and phosphates to honor her. All items are planet friendly, concentrated, and highly effective, helping to keep the planet as spotless as your home!

Machine Wash:
Add to the wash cycle with Nellie's Laundry Soda.

  • Small loads: 1 tablespoon
  • Regular loads: 2 tablespoons
  • Large loads: 3 tablespoons
  • Very dirty or stained clothing: 3 tablespoons

Pre-Soak or Hand Wash:
Separate whites from colors. Add 1 tablespoon with Nellie's Laundry Soda to 10 L (2.6 gallons) of warm or hot water. Soak for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

General Stain Removal:
Mix 1 tablespoon with 16 oz (500 mL) of water. Suitable for upholstery, fabrics, kitchen floors, counters, trash cans, and other water-washable surfaces. Apply to the stain, wait 1–5 minutes, scrub with a sponge or blot with a towel, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.

Carpet Spot Remover:
Mix 1 tablespoon with 16 oz (500 mL) of water. Blot excess liquid before applying. Use only enough solution to cover the stain, wait 1–5 minutes, blot with a white towel, and repeat if needed. Rinse thoroughly with water, blot dry, and vacuum once completely dry.

Do Not Use On:
Wool, silk, leather, jewelry, latex, painted surfaces, or wood.
