Frustrated with seemingly unavoidable plastic household products, we looked back to the past for a sustainable solution and found the answer in the humble luffa gourd.

Luffa gourds are native to South Asia and have been used as a cleaning tool around the world for thousands of years, known for their superior scrubbing power. When tender on the vine, this gourd is edible (similar to cucumbers) and has a particularly silky texture, a common vegetable in many Asian cultures.

Made from carefully sourced luffa gourds, each Floofah is minimally processed, then cut and stitched without glue, plastics, or synthetic materials. Unlike conventional plastic sponges made with mixed plastic material that shed microplastics in your sink and down the drain, Floofah scrubs naturally—so what touches your foodware and washes away is completely clean.

Just add water and watch it expand into a soft, airy sponge. Add your favorite soap (bar or liquid) and squish for a rich lather; Floofahs are tough enough to cut through grime yet safe on all surfaces. For tougher grease, soak dishware in hot water, then use dry Floofah for max scrubbing power.

Floofah softens with use and should be replaced every 4-6 weeks or as needed. Let it fully dry between uses to keep it fresh; to sanitize, run it through the dishwasher, microwave it wet for 15 seconds, or a few seconds in boiling water.
