Alaffia combines handcrafted processes and naturally-derived ingredients to make Alaffia body wash. Workers heat and combine coconut oil and unrefined shea butter with plantain leaves and tree bark, which act as catalysts to extract the nourishing fats. The hot soap mixture cools down and dries in palm fronds, and oils — in this case, lavender oil — are added afterwards to scent the body wash.
