DIY Vinegar Use Inspiration!
Bathroom
- Clean your shower heads:
To unclog a shower head, put boiling water in a bowl with a 1/2 cup of Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar. Soak the shower head for 10 minutes and watch the magic happen. If the head is unremovable, partly fill a plastic bag with Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar and tape it over the fixture. Let it sit for an hour and remove. Voila! - Unclog your drain:
Clear a clogged drain by pouring a 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar. Expect some foamy, sizzling bubbles! After the fizz fades, flush the drain with hot water. Wait 5 minutes and rinse with cold water.
Kitchen
- Clean your coffee maker:
Over time, coffee oil buildup can damage the taste of your coffee, (say it isn’t so!). Fear not. By cleaning your coffee maker every 1-2 months, you can avoid the buildup. Fill the water chamber with equal parts water and Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar and run a brew cycle. Halfway through pause the cycle to let the Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar do it’s cleaning dance. After 30 minutes finish the cycle. - Clean your Microwave:
Before you get endlessly scrubbing at your exploded bowl of tomato soup from last week, try this instead. Fill a bowl with equal parts Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar and water, microwave it for five minutes. Let it sit for another three to five minutes to allow the steam to soften up that soup. Open the microwave and easily wipe away the mess.
Laundry
- Wash your dishwasher:
Pour 1 cup of Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar into the bottom of the tub and run it through a cycle without any dishes. Recommended once every 1-2 months, this will remove built-up soap residue and maintain a clean and shiny dishwasher. - Deodorize the washing machine:
Rid your washing machine of questionable smells by deodorizing it with Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar. Add 2-4 cups of Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar and run it on the hottest cycle. When the cycle has combined the vinegar and water, shut it down and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Next, turn the washer back on and allow the cycle to finish. - Freshen your towels:
Towels can develop a musty odor from bacteria clinging to the fabric from old showers and lingering detergent. For towels that feel brand new, run them through a cycle, but replace your detergent with one cup of Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar. - Remove Clothing Odors:
Stinky Clothes? To remove odors on clothes like smoke and body oil buildup, hang them above a steaming tub filled with hot water and a cup of Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar.
MISC.
- Save a dried up paint brush:
Does your paint brush have old, dried up paint? This can be remedied by soaking it in a cup of Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar until the bristles loosen up. Next, wash it in warm, sudsy water. If old paint remains stubborn, boil it in Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar for 10 minutes and follow up with another soapy water rinse. - Remove rust:
Bring rusty tools back to life by soaking them in Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar for several days. Once the rust dissipates, rinse and dry. - Extend the life of your flowers:
Add equal parts Aunt Fannie’s Multi-Purpose Cleaning Vinegar and sugar to your flowers’ water to extend the life of flowers. The sugar feeds the flowers, while the vinegar lowers the pH levels of the water to prevent growing bacteria.
