What is aloe vera good for?

There isn't enough room on this page to explain what aloe vera is good for. It has been intensely studied to determine its dietary and medicinal benefits. This miracle plant has antiseptic properties, hastens the healing of burns, reduces acne, and softens the skin, among many other impressive qualities that aloe is known for. It's no wonder that this is a primary ingredient in many facial care products.

Is sodium laurel sulfate bad?

Sodium laurel sulfate, or SLS is found in just about anything that foams. It is common in hair products, moisturizers, and household cleaners. SLS is safe and can be derived from petroleum or from plants. We'd say if the SLS is derived from plants by humanely treated workers, SLS is just fine. You let your own conscience be your guide regarding SLS.

Let’s close the loop on packaging to ensure it doesn’t end up in landfills or oceans.

TerraCycle® and Burt’s Bees have partnered to create a national recycling program for typically hard-to-recycle waste streams. Reduce your impact on our planet - participation is simple and free.

Burt’s Bees personal care, beauty care, and lip care packaging can be recycled through TerraCycle®. If you are recycling toothpaste it may be curbside recyclable. You can check if it is here.

How to Start:

1. Create a Terracycle account. This is mandatory for participation and allows you to track your recycling and impact.
2. Collect your empties - no need to even rinse them out - and put them in an eco-friendly envelope, box or other container. Reuse packaging you already have for mailing.
3. Request and print your label from Terracycle.com
4. Ship!
