What does “biobased” mean?

If something is “biobased,” it is made from renewable materials. This means it is derived from plants, trees, or other organic matter. Such ingredients tend to be better for one’s health, and also better for the environment.

Why are people allergic to fragrances?

About 1-4% of the population is sensitive to fragrance. Fragrances and perfumes are frequently made up of dozens or even hundreds of different chemical compounds, and fierce competition between brands keeps the long ingredient lists secret. So, it can be next to impossible to avoid a particular compound, even if you know which one causes an allergic reaction. It’s often safer to go with perfumes, cleaning products, skincare, and laundry detergents that are strictly fragrance-free.

Dirty Labs uses biobased raw materials that are responsibly sourced from nature or created through a biorenewable fermentation process called biosynthesis. Any palm oils used are RSPO certified. Their formula is 97% USDA Biobased certified. Our ingredients are free of all CA Prop 65 Chemicals of Concern and EU-listed fragrance allergens.
