What is Green Rewards?
 

Green Rewards is Grove’s loyalty program, and it’s free for everyone. Every order you place earns rewards you can spend on anything at Grove. Rewards are automatically added to your account and can be applied at checkout.

As a Green Rewards member, you’ll get:

  • 1% back in rewards on every order
  • 1.5% back in rewards on eligible subscriptions
  • Up to 3% back during rewards multiplier events
  • Free carbon neutral shipping on all orders $79+

You’ll also have access to more ways to earn, like referring friends, starting subscriptions, or following Grove on social. There’s no sign-up required — just place your first Grove order and you’ll start earning.

What is Green Rewards VIP?
 

Green Rewards VIP is the paid tier of our loyalty program. For $29.99/year (plus applicable tax), you’ll enjoy even more perks, including:

  • $10 in rewards when you join
  • 4% back in rewards on every order (4x more than the free tier)
  • 6% back in rewards on eligible subscriptions
  • Up to 12% back during rewards multiplier events
  • Free carbon neutral shipping on all orders $29+ (vs. $79+)
  • Surprise samples and full-size gifts throughout the year
  • Exclusive savings in the VIP Discounts Shop

VIP pays for itself in just a few orders and gives you more flexibility to spend rewards on anything you love at Grove. You can join VIP on your Green Rewards page.

How do I join Green Rewards VIP?
 

Green Rewards VIP is the paid tier of our loyalty program. You can join VIP on your Green Rewards page. With $10 to spend after joining, free shipping on orders $29+, and more, VIP pays for itself in just a few orders.

Is Green Rewards free to join?
 

Yes! Green Rewards is Grove’s loyalty program, and it’s free for everyone to join. Every order you place earns rewards you can spend on anything at Grove. VIP is an optional paid upgrade for a higher earning rate and even more perks.

How do I earn rewards?
 

You’ll earn rewards every time you shop at Grove — they’re automatically added to your account after you place an order.

Here are the ways to earn:

  • Every order: 1% back for Green Rewards members, 4% back for VIPs
  • Eligible subscriptions: 1.5% back for everyone, 6% back for VIPs
  • Rewards multiplier events: Up to 3% back for everyone, up to 12% back for VIPs
  • Refer a friend: $15 in rewards when your friend places their first Grove order
  • Follow us on social: $1 in rewards each for following @grovecollaborative on Instagram and TikTok

How do I redeem my rewards?
 

Redeeming your rewards is easy — just select “apply rewards” at checkout. You’ll need to make sure you’re logged in to your account. There is no minimum rewards balance required to redeem, and your rewards balance must be applied in full.

Are my rewards taxed?
 

No, you are not taxed on your Green Rewards.

Where do I see my rewards balance?
 

First, log in to your account. You can find your rewards balance highlighted at the top of your Green Rewards page — along with your membership status, available perks, unique referral link, and more.

Do my rewards expire?
 

Your rewards never expire as long as you shop at Grove at least once every 13 months. If your account is inactive for 13+ months, your rewards will expire — but we’ll send you plenty of reminders before that happens.

Can loyalty rewards and discount codes be combined?
 

Yes, in most cases. Rewards balances can generally be used alongside other promotions unless a promotion specifically says otherwise.

What happens to my rewards if I return a purchase?
 

If you return or cancel an order, any rewards earned from that order will be deducted from your account. If rewards were used during this purchase, they will be returned to your account.

Do subscription orders qualify for rewards?
 

Yes! Subscription orders earn rewards just the same as checkout orders.

Can I use rewards on subscription orders?
 

Not yet — rewards can only be redeemed on orders where you checkout. We’ll let you know if this changes.

I forgot to use my rewards at checkout – can I apply them retroactively?
 

Rewards can only be applied during checkout and can’t be added to past orders. Don’t worry — your rewards stay safe in your account and will be ready to use on your next order.

How does your referral program work? How do I refer my friends?
 

It’s easy! Just copy your unique referral link on your Green Rewards page and share it by text, email, or social.

When your friend shops through your link, they’ll get 25% off their first $75+ order — and once they complete that order, you’ll earn $15 in rewards. Rewards are automatically added to your account and can be spent on anything at Grove. You can refer up to 39 friends each year.

How do I cancel my Green Rewards VIP membership?
 

You can manage or cancel your VIP membership any time in your account settings, or reach out to our Customer Happiness team at grove.co/contact for help.

Can I get a refund if I cancel Green Rewards VIP membership?
 

If you cancel within 30 days of joining, and you haven’t used any VIP perks (like placing an order with VIP benefits), you’ll receive a full refund of $29.99 (plus applicable tax). Your VIP benefits will end right away. You must reach out to our Customer Happiness team at grove.co/contact to get a refund.

If you cancel after 30 days or if perks were used, you won’t be refunded, but you’ll keep all your VIP benefits until your current membership term expires. You won’t be charged again once it ends.

When your VIP membership ends, you’ll remain part of Green Rewards for free. That means you’ll still earn 1% back in rewards on every order, 1.5% on eligible subscriptions, up to 3% back during rewards multiplier events, and get free carbon neutral shipping on orders $79+.

And if you ever change your mind after your membership is over, you can re-join VIP anytime for 4x rewards back, lower shipping thresholds, surprise gifts, and exclusive deals.

How does the launch of Green Rewards impact the current experience? Are free gifts going away?
 

With Green Rewards, we’ve simplified how rewards and gifts work to make the experience more flexible, sustainable, and valuable for you. While free gifts will no longer automatically appear at checkout every time you shop, we’ll still surprise you with free samples and gifts with purchase throughout the year.

This change helps us stay true to our mission, giving you products you actually want and will enjoy rather than assorted free gifts that might go to waste. Plus, you’ll now earn rewards on every order that you can spend on anything at Grove — a simpler, more sustainable way to save.

How does the launch of Green Rewards impact the current Grove VIP program? Are free gifts going away?
 

With Green Rewards VIP, we’ve made the program more rewarding and sustainable. While we’ll no longer guarantee seven full-size VIP gifts each year, we’ll keep finding ways to surprise you with special moments (and even more exciting free gifts along the way).

As a VIP, you’ll now earn 4% back in rewards on every order and can spend those rewards on anything at Grove. Instead of only receiving assorted free gifts, you’ll be able to redeem your rewards for products you know you’ll use and enjoy — helping reduce waste and unwanted items.

Note: The free gifts you sometimes see at checkout are not VIP gifts — they’re available to all customers as limited-time offers. Your VIP rewards, exclusive discounts, surprise free gifts, and more can be found on your Green Rewards VIP page.

What’s changing with Subscribe and Save?
 

We’re retiring the 5% discount on eligible Subscribe and Save items and replacing it with Green Rewards. Now, instead of an upfront discount, you’ll earn 1.5% back in rewards on eligible subscription items or 6% back if you’re a Green Rewards VIP.  Your existing subscriptions will continue automatically — no action needed. 

Is the VIP Hub changing as part of this update? Will the current VIP Hub change automatically into the Green Rewards VIP page?
 

Yes. Everything you previously found in your VIP Hub is now on your Green Rewards VIP page — including exclusive discounts, free gifts, and more VIP perks.
