We've all done it: gotten gravy on a spotless outfit right before the party. Smeared food across a freshly scrubbed countertop. Put a spoon in the sink even though we'll need it again... all because we don't have a spoon rest. That's why bambu® invented the 'Give it a Rest' spatula. The ‘Give it a Rest’ spatula is a combination of a spoon rest and a spatula. This innovative spatula is lovingly crafted from a single piece of USDA certified organic bamboo, with a small, patented bump on the back – a natural characteristic of how bamboo grows. Measures 12 inches long

This bambu® Give it a Rest Spatula is carved out of a single piece of certified organic bamboo and has a patented bump on the back that sets the business end above the surface it’s resting on. It’s about time someone invented a spatula that’ll keep its saucy side off your clean countertops. Plus, this handy, 12-inch long kitchen tool is USDA Certified Biobased, made without glues and lacquers, and won’t scratch your cooking surface or transfer heat.

Do bamboo utensils hold bacteria?

Although bamboo is antibacterial by nature, it’s also porous and absorbs liquid from cooking, so bamboo utensils can still grow bacteria like any other utensil — if you don’t wash them. But if you keep them clean, they won’t harbor bacteria.

Do bamboo utensils splinter?

With the right care, utensils made from bamboo won’t splinter. Harsh detergents, high heat, and exposure to water for long periods of time are the most common culprits when it comes to warped, splintered, or discolored bamboo.

How to care for your bamboo spatula

Rinse or wash your spatula right after you use it so food doesn’t stick. It’s dishwasher safe, but wash it by hand with mild soap and warm water to extend its life. Pat away the water with a towel, and stand it up in the dish drainer to finish drying.

  • Don’t let your bamboo utensils sit in water (or soup!) for longer than a minute.
  • If the bamboo starts to look or feel dry, rehydrate it with this luscious Wood & Bamboo Conditioner and Protectant.
  • With long-term use, the bamboo may become fuzzy or rough. Simply give it a good rubdown with some fine-grit sandpaper, when needed.
