The bamboo ‘Give it a Rest’ slotted spoon is the ultimate answer to the question of where to put it. This bamboo oval-shaped slotted spoon has a small patented bump (a unique characteristic of how bamboo grows) on its back that keeps the spoon from touching the surface when set on counters and stoves. Each slotted spoon is made from a single piece of USDA certified organic bamboo, hand-burnished to a naturally-smooth finish. The ‘Give it a Rest’ bamboo slotted spoon is a combination of a spoon rest and a kitchen slotted spoon. This patented design elevates the spoon head off the counter, leaving your surfaces splotch-free. Measures 12 inches long

This bambu® Give it a Rest Slotted Spoon is one of those handy kitchen tools you didn’t know you needed, but once you’ve got it, it’s a game-changer.

It’s carved out of a single piece of bamboo and conditioned with pure linseed oil — no glue or lacquer involved. And the distinct bump on the back, placed precisely at the sweet spot for maximum stability, elevates the spoon when you set it down.

Are bamboo utensils hygienic?

Bamboo is antibacterial by nature and helps keep things sanitary. But since wood is porous and absorbs oil and water from the food you cook, bacteria can still grow on wooden utensils. Wash your bambu Give it a Rest Slotted Spoon with mild dish detergent and warm water after every use.

Do bamboo utensils splinter?

Hot water, harsh chemical detergents, and long exposure to water are the most common causes of splitting in bamboo. If you properly take care of your bamboo, it won’t splinter, but it may become “fuzzy” over time—just give it a good rubbing with fine-grit sandpaper to restore it.

How to care for your bamboo utensils

Rinse or wash bamboo utensils right after use to prevent food from drying on them. Wash them in warm water with mild dish soap, pat dry, and stand them up in the dish drainer to fully air dry.

More tips include:

  • Don’t let your bamboo utensils soak in water (or soup) for longer than a couple of minutes.
  • Wash them by hand — even though bambu’s utensils are dishwasher safe, they’ll last a lot longer!
  • If your bamboo becomes dry, rehydrate it with this natural Wood & Bamboo Conditioner and Protectant.
