To clean your quartz with a DIY cleaning solution, fill a reusable spray bottle with a cup of water and a couple drops of mild dish soap. Spray it on your counters and grab a microfiber cleaning cloth (these are our favorites) to give ‘em a good wipe down, paying a lil’ extra attention to any super dirty spots. Allow the countertops to dry, and voila! Clean, glistening quartz that’s ready for whatever yummy ideas you’ve got next.

Quartz countertops are a tad finicky when it comes to cleaning products, but their beauty and durability definitely make up for it. When you choose a quartz cleaner for your counters, stay away from vinegar. The pH of vinegar is too acidic, and can strip your quartz counters of their protective surface.
Bleach is another product that shouldn’t be used when cleaning quartz countertops because it’s highly alkaline. It can permanently damage the surface of your counters or cause discoloration that’s impossible to remove.
If you’re concerned about disinfecting your quartz, add four tablespoons of isopropyl rubbing alcohol to your spray bottle filled with water and dish soap. The alcohol will disinfect your countertops without stripping or permanently disfiguring them.
So you’ve got stains, gunk, or other unsightly stuff hanging around on your quartz? No worries! Use a razor blade and very gently scrape off any chunky bits from the counter. For hardened-on residue and stubborn stains, take a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and pour it, undiluted, into a clean cloth. Rub the stained area for 15 seconds, then immediately wash the area with a quartz countertop cleaner or your DIY dish soap spray.
